Bauyrzhan Murzabayev won the Cup for the second time



Jockey Bauyrzhan Murzabayev, representing Kazakhstan, won the international jockeys' competition Europeran Jockeys Cup 2018 at Prague-Velká Chuchle racecourse and became the winner for the second time in the history of this event (he won also in 2016). Murzabayev won two big races of the schedule and earned 30 points, Jean-Bernard Eyquem from France won the main race, earned 18 points and placed second, Andreas Helfenbein from Germany won one race, earned 17 points and placed third.

Irish legendary globetrotter Gordon Lord Byron was the greatest horse of all day and the favourite (6:10) of the main race, EJC Leram Million (7f, 2,6 mio. CZK - the richest flat race in Central/East Europe), but finished closely fifth. Race was won by second favourite (5,5:1) Troizilet (j. Eyquem, tr. Luka, own. Leram), one and half lenghts ahead of the outsider Noble Cliffs (Helfenbein, 49:1), with German Julio (Murzabayev, 6,5:1) third only by short head.

Owner Karel Kříž (Leram) won two big races and coach Václav Luka reached the hattrick in big races of the day: 7yo top-favourite Wireless (j. Murzabayev, tr. Luka, own. Leram, 6:10) won EJC Lokotrans Middle (9f, 600 ths. CZK), 3yo filly Rousse (j. Murzabayev, tr. Luka, own. Mrs. Hana Veselá, 4:1) won EJC Baltro Long - 40th Czech Turf Stakes (12f, 600 ths. CZK).

The biggest race for 2yos, EJC Pemat Trading - 82nd Dr. Gersch Memorial Stakes (7f, 600 ths. CZK) was won by third favourite (7,5:1) King Archie (j. Línek, tr. Tůma, own. Dr. Charvát).
