Horse racing season 2019 was opened on Sunday, April 7th at Prague-Velká Chuchle racecourse with huge crowds of visitors. Traditional races Gomba handicap and Factoring České spořitelny April Stakes were highlights of the day, both with record times of their winners. Going was "good".
8-y-o gelding Master of Gold (j. Šafář, tr. Wroblewski, own. TVD) won 92nd Gomba handicap (6f, 135 ths. CZK, 4+) in record time 1:09,64 by neck and neck in front of mares Celine My Heart and Benidiction and reached third consecutive win in this race, only as the third horse in history of this race.
61st Factoring České spořitelny April Stakes (9f, 150 ths. CZK, 4+) was won by 5-y-o favourite Black Canyon (j. Florian, tr. Olehla, own. DS Pegas), Cape Freedom finished second by one and three quarters lenght, with Mormill third by another half lenghts. Black Canyon ran a new track record 1:48,89.
