Serbian joyride in Prague



The sixth part of this year's horse racing season at the Chuchle Arena Prague offered nine races, two of them had Class A status. Three weeks before the Czech Derby, its main trial race took place, the 68th June Stakes was won by Serbian bred and owned horse Markoni LP. The 17th Nora Jeane Stakes for fillies and mares was won by favorite Tularka, who won also her third race in this season.

Serbian native colt Markoni LP (7:1, j. Foret, tr. Luka, own. Lastin Put LP) won 68th June Stakes (Class A, 11f, 3yo, 150 ths. CZK) by one lenght of Swinging Thomas (8:1), top-favorite Rate (8:10), winnner of Czech 2000 Guineas, placed third.

In the 17th Nora Jeane Stakes (Class A, 1m, 3yo+ f+m, 150 ths. CZK) won 4yo filly Tularka (9:10-fav., j. Liška, tr. Helena Vocásková, own. Statek Blata Český ráj) by three and half lenghts of Pray for Paris (9:1) with South Captiva (9:1) third. Tularka stays unbeaten in this season, when won three races (previous two in Carlsbad) and achieved the first lifetime Class A win

Jockeys Petr Foret (38th double in carrier), Michal Demo (6th double in career) and Slovak champion Jaroslav Línek and trainer Václav Luka were the most successful, when won two races on this day.
