Billabong Cat and Kamssio: both main races for trainer Luka



On Sunday, September 5, after a summer break, the racing events returned to the Chuchle Arena Prague. The highlights of the day, whose accompanying program was marked by charitable projects and helping them, were two important tests: the prestigious one mile-comparative test 43rd CK Martin Tour Prague Stakes and the last and longest classic race 76th Factoring České spořitelny St Leger. Exclusive double was achieved by trainer Václav Luka, whose horses won both of these races.

After thrilling finish, 6yo gelding Billabong Cat (own. Leram) won the Prague Stakes (Class A, 1m, 600 ths. CZK, 3yo+) by a short head of Heaven Forfend, with last two editions winner Torque Power the third. Young female rider Lucie Fialová (substitute for an indisposed jockey Chaloupka) reached the biggest win of her career, Billabong Cat ran for the first time in the Czech Republic and achieved his eighth lifetime win.

Factoring České spořitelny St Leger (Class A, 1m 6f, 600 ths. CZK, 3yo c+f) was won by favourite Kamssio (half-brother of 2019 St Leger winner Ramssio, also owned by František Hrubý), by two and half lenghts in front of Dionis second and Respekt (the best of three czech-bred horses in field) third. Kamssio, fifth in previous Czech Derby, reached his first win and made a new record of the race and track 2:56,30, jockey Petr Foret won the second classic race in this season (also Czech 1000 Guineas) and the seventh one in total.

Jockey Radek Koplík, in last race of the day, reached his 300th lifewtime win, as the twentieth flat jockey in Czech history.
